Co-regulation sessions

Feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or alone in your studies? You don’t have to face it alone! We warmly invite you to an enriching evening designed to help you connect with fellow students, share experiences, and discover the power of connection. These sessions, guided by Dan Tuffy, focus on co-regulation—an essential aspect of well-being grounded in Attachment Theory.

Why Co-Regulation?
Co-regulation is about openly sharing your fears, longings, joys, and frustrations, and finding understanding and support through shared experiences. Without these connections, it's easy to feel lost and alone, especially when stressed by studies or life challenges.  While the natural tendency might be to face these feelings in isolation, the Co-Regulation sessions offer a powerful alternative. We provide a safe and welcoming space where you can share your experiences, support one another, and build meaningful connections. Through dynamic group discussions, reflective activities, and peer support exercises, these sessions empower you to navigate challenges together and expand your social circle.

Lost a Parent Support

[This activity is atm in Dutch, but if you are an international student and would like to join, please be welcome and contact Marloes]

Yin Yoga

Wiebke is a certified Yin Yoga teacher that we had the pleasure to meet a few days ago. After a trial with her, we were fully relaxed in our bodies and mind to the point that someone even said we would need 100 times of yin yoga a month!
Yin Yoga is a gentle yoga practice that focuses on passive and long-held stretches. Through these slow and mindful movements we try to connect deeply to our breath and body, thereby finding a balance between effort and ease.

Retreat & Recharge evenings

Are you longing for some inner silence and reflection? At the monthly Retreat & Recharge Evenings we slowly digest an inspirational quote. Without hurries, we read, meditate and share. A nurturing way to retreat from our busy lives and recharge. The evening will involve a meditation on the quote, using a four-step technique called Lectio Divina. Don't forget to wear some easy pants, that make you sit comfortably on a meditation pillow or chair.
About the facilitators
Jeannette den Ouden is theologist and pastor of the Arboretum Church and student chaplain for Spectrum. She has worked over 15 years with Lectio Divina and uses it for her daily inspiration. Marloes Harkema works for Spectrum as coordinator for Buddhist activities and life coach for the WUR. For the last years we have used quotes from Thich Nhat Hanh, Desmond Tutu, Rumi, Julian of Norwich, Pema Chodron, Etty Hillesum and Tara Brach.
